Large breasts can cause a number of problems, including shoulder and neck pain, skin irritation, and discomfort during exercise. A breast reduction can help by eliminating excess skin and breast tissue to create a breast size more in line with your body type and lifestyle. This procedure removes excess fat, breast tissue, and skin. The breasts become smaller, lighter, and firmer along with the downsizing of the nipple to fit the proportion of the new breast size. Often combined with liposuction to remove excess breast tissue in the lateral breast area and armpits to achieve the best aesthetic outcome for the patient.
Dr. Godat also repositions your nipples to align with your new breast contours, and can also decrease nipple size. If you’re planning to breastfeed in the future, you should discuss the timing of your breast reduction with Dr. Godat.
Why to consider a breast reduction?
