Scars are visible signs that remain after a wound has healed. They are unavoidable results of injury or surgery, and their development can be unpredictable. Keloids are elevated fibrous scars that extend beyond the borders of the original wound, do not regress, and usually recur after excision. They can be painful or itchy, and may also pucker.
Types of Scars:
- Contractures
- Keloids
- Hypertrophic scars
- Discoloration or surface irregularities
